The Board wishes to remind therapists about their responsibilities under the Federal Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles (NPPs).
The ten NPPs cover areas such as collection of personal health information, use and disclosure of information, accuracy of client records, data security, collection, possession and management of client records, access to, and correction of, client records, identifiers, anonymity, transborder data flows, and sensitive information.
