In accordance with Section 31 of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act, 2005, the Application for Renewal of Registration is now referred to as the Annual Return.

Annual Returns for the 2008/2009 registration year, together with the Board's eighth annual newsletter were posted to the profession on 18 April 2008.

This year there have been further changes under the new legislation including:

Registrants must provide documents for a 100 point identity check.

Registrants who have any medical condition which may impact on their ability to safely provide occuapational therapy must provide a "certificate regarding medical fitness to provide occupational therapy" which has been completed by their medical practitioner or psychologist. Registrants are reminded that the annual return, supporting documentation, and annual practice fee must all be submitted by 31 May 2008. In addition to avoiding reminder letters being sent, this will ensure that registrants receive their 2008/2009 Annual Practising Certificate before 1 July 2008.
